At Medical Surgical Specialists, we are pleased to be a part of Physicians Regional Healthcare System along with two of Southwest Florida's finest hospitals - Physicians Regional Medical Center-Pine Ridge and Physicians Regional Medical Center-Collier Boulevard.  In order to continue the provision of our compassionate care, the following are just a few of the special services and amenities that we provide our patients.

Admissions Information
Physicians Regional Healthcare System's admissions staff will make every effort to expedite the admissions process and accommodate special requests.  If you are to be admitted, please be sure to bring a photo ID and your insurance card to help the process go smoothly.

For Medicare Patients
After your admission to Physicians Regional Healthcare System, we want to provide you with all the information necessary to make decisions regarding your health care.  In conjunction with the Balanced Budget Act of 1997, Physicians Regional Healthcare System would like to take the opportunity to identify for you the many options for your post-acute care services.  The Budget Act requires hospitals and clinics to disclose the names of those home health agencies in which they have financial interest, as well as the names of those home health agencies in your community.  Your case manager can provide you with this listing.

Room Assignments
All patient rooms within Physicians Regional Healthcare System are assigned based on the specific needs of each patient.  Most patients are placed in a specific area with other patients who have similar illnesses or conditions.

Smoke-Free Policy
Physicians Regional Healthcare System is committed to the good health of our patients, visitors and employees.  Consequently, we do not allow smoking in the hospital or clinic.

Designated Smoking Areas
In consideration of our guests who do smoke, a smoking area has been designated where smoking is permitted.  Please see your nursing staff with questions.

Fire and Disaster Drills
For your protection, Physicians Regional Healthcare System will conduct fire and disaster drills regularly.  If a drill occurs while you are in either hospital facility or clinic, please remain in your room and do not become alarmed.  Each facility and clinic is a fire-resistant building, and the staff is trained in fire protection.

Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available on all nursing units.  Please ask for a member of our staff to assist with the handling of all wheelchairs.

Interpreters
Many of our employee are multi-lingual who can assist with our non-English speaking patients and visitors.  The AT&T Language Line is also available.  This service provides 24-hour coverage and can be accessed by contacting the Operator.

Lost and Found
Physicians Regional Healthcare System's Security Department maintains a lost and found service.  If you find an article or think you left one of your possessions with us, please contact us immediately.  All left behind items are kept for 30 days.

Security Department
Physicians Regional Healthcare System's Security Department is available on campus 24-hours a day and will be glad to assist you.  All Physicians Regional Healthcare System employees are required to wear an ID badge for proper identification.

Patient Relations
Physicians Regional Healthcare System's employees are committed to ensuring that your stay is trouble-free, but even in the best of circumstances, problems can arise.  Please feel free to express any concerns that may arise to our Administrative Office, and we will make every effort to resolve them.

Patient Education and Health Information
Physicians Regional Healthcare System's physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists and dietitians will provide you with educational information depending on your needs.
